The Trump Administration is reversing a 2011 policy that pushed national parks to not sell plastic water bottles. The policy was not a ban but 23 national parks in the United States did restrict the selling of water bottles, which helped to combat pollution and harm to the environment and wildlife. Plastic doesn't not belong in the environment let alone in national parks.

People are ingesting around 5 grams of plastic every week. This is equivalent to one credit card. Eight millions tonnes of plastic is ending up in the ocean every year, and they are entering our food chain as well as being ingested by marine animals, as they break down into small microplastics.
